Safety Tips for the Holiday Season

12/2/2021

Dear Coronado Cays Residents,

We are entering the holiday season and Allied Universal wishes to remind you of the importance of safety first. We will be patrolling the villages 24/7 and below are some helpful tips to reduce holiday stress.

PROTECTYOUR GIFTS – Whether ordering online or shopping in person, ensure you don’t leave an open invitation for a burglar or thief. Track and pick up packages daily and be aware that unattended packages outside a gate or door are easy targets during the season. Expecting packages while out of town? Let us know, so we can assist in making them safer.

SECUREYOUR BELONGINGS- Lock your car doors, access and service doors and garages while away. Cover gifts or place in trunk while out shopping or parked on the street at home. Check your windows and doors to ensure they are properly locked, particularly sliding glass doors.

REPORTSUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Suspicious vehicle casing the area? Suspicious person loitering around? Do not hesitate to call Coronado Police Department 911 or non-emergency 619.522.7350, or your Allied Universal Safety Team at 619.575.8100, or the Safety Manager at 619.423.4353.

LIGHTINGSAFETY- Statistics from the Fire Department indicate a spike in electrical fires during the holiday season. Inspect holiday lights for broken lamps and frayed wiring. Do not overload electrical outlets with lights and devices. Turn off all lights when leaving the home, except normal safety lighting.

We wish you a safe, stress free and happy holiday season. Please contact the HOA Office at 619.423.4353 or your Safety Team if you need assistance.

Happy Holidays!

Allied Universal Safety Team
